20th Anniversary Residential Weekend for SCD Teachers and Friends
Dates: Friday 4 (check-in from 14:00) - Sunday 6 (late morning) September 2026
Venue: Invercarse Hotel, 371 Perth Road, Dundee, DD2 1PG (hotel has no lift, flights of stairs are short)

Friday evening band: Scott Band and his Band
Saturday evening band: Ian Muir Scottish Dance Band

Workshops are open to TAS members and other teachers of SCD
Friday: Welcome drinks reception, evening meal, dance
Saturday: Breakfast, morning workshops, lunch, AGM, afternoon workshop, free time, evening meal, dance
Sunday: Breakfast, morning workshops (hotel checkout time 11:00)
Unit 2-3 course
TAS recently held a Unit 2-3 course in the Dunblane Centre, with candidates gathering from Dundee, Perth, Dunkeld, Bonnybridge, Glasgow, and Moffat. The tutor was Janet Johnston and the principal musician was Luke Brady, with input from David Oswald and Susan MacFadyen when Luke was unavailable.
All seven candidates sat and passed Unit 2. One group member had already passed her Unit 3 pre-Covid, but attended the course with the others as a refresher. Unfortunately one candidate had to withdraw due to family circumstances, but the five remaining saw the course through to a successful conclusion in early May.
We congratulate all the candidates and wish them well as they continue their training journey.
